A first Community Groups Open Day took place on Saturday 12th September.
The aim of the day was to showcase to the community all the community groups we’re fortunate to have in Newtown. 26 groups joined from in and around the town.
With a steady stream of residents, old and new, the event was a success. People signed up to various activities and also put their name down to help out.
It was also a great opportunities for the groups to network with each other.
“Whether sport or crafts or planning for the town, groups like these are what make a community, not just a cluster of houses, and we’re very lucky to have a really big range in Newtown, along with some new ones just starting! The day was such a success there has already been talk of making it an annual thing… I suggested maybe every two years
