Newtownmountkennedy Tidy Towns: Rooted in Community
The Newtownmountkennedy Tidy Towns committee is the driving force behind the “Forest Town” aesthetic that makes our village so unique. Far more than just litter picking, this dedicated team of volunteers works year-round to enhance our local biodiversity, preserve our historic landmarks, and ensure that our public spaces are vibrant and welcoming. From the lush planting along the Main Street to the preservation of the River Walk, the Tidy Towns initiative is about creating a sustainable, beautiful environment where both nature and neighbours can thrive.
Collaboration & Growth
Our success is built on a strong spirit of partnership. The committee works hand-in-hand with the Newtownmountkennedy Community Forum, the local Town Team, local businesses, and Wicklow County Council to implement long-term improvements like across our town. This collaborative approach has led to major wins, including specialised biodiversity projects and the planting of native fruit trees across local estates. By bridging the gap between our long-standing residents and our rapidly growing new community, Tidy Towns ensures that the village’s evolution remains green, inclusive, and rooted in pride of place.
