Attention all community, sports and resident groups in Newtown
There are three grant schemes currently open in the Council that I encourage you to apply for. They are as follows:

The Local Enhancement Programme. This funds small capital works or specific equipment up to €1,000. Closing date Friday 27th February. You need quotes of the works/equipment you want to fund but copies of emails and screenshots from websites will suffice. The Community Award Scheme. This funds small projects and group running costs up to €1,000, the typical amount awarded to every group was €325 last year. Closing date Friday 13th March. Full details and application form here: https://www.wicklow.ie/…/Community-Awards-Scheme-2026

The Estate Development Grants. This scheme is open to social housing estates and private estates which have some social housing to help fund maintenance costs. Maximum of €1,000 and typical amounts €300-€500. If you are unsure of the number of social housing in your estate let me know and I’ll ask the District Administrator. Closing date Friday 6th March.
